Experience & Education: Judge Engel has served on the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court for four years. Prior to serving in her present capacity, she was an assistant district attorney in the Second Judicial District and worked in private practice. Judge Engel received her law degree from the University of Alabama in 1993 and was admitted to the New Mexico Bar in 1994. Judge Engel is one of the principal authors of the "Courts to School Program" which takes DWI offenders to high schools where they are sentenced in front of students.
