Her specific strengths include discharging responsibilities diligently, maintaining appropriate hours, and quickly and decisively ruling on procedural and substantive matters. In addition, Judge Gomez was rated highly for her dignified demeanor, fairness, and courteous treatment of court participants and staff. She also received very high ratings for her knowledge of the rules of procedure and evidence, and her knowledge of substantive law.
Experience & Education: Judge Gomez earned her law degree from the UNM School of Law in 1981 and her BS degree from the University of California-Davis. She has served on the Metropolitan Court since 1991. Her prior work experience includes service in the New Mexico Attorney General's Office, the Public Defender Department, and private practice. Judge Gomez has also served as an instructor for the American Indian Law Center.
