Experience & Education: Judge Valdez was appointed to the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court in March 2004 and elected to the position in November 2004. Prior to his judicial appointment, he practiced law for 15 years. He has been involved in various community and professional organizations including the New Mexico Hispanic Bar Association, U.S. District Court Bar, New Mexico Inn of Courts and has volunteered as an assistant baseball coach and assistant den leader for Tiger Cub Scouts. Judge Valdez earned his undergraduate degree from Stanford University and his law degree from the University of New Mexico.
